JOBSUMMARY:The Kentucky State University School of Psychology is experiencing rapid enrollment growth and program innovation. We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Psychology Department as an Assistant Professor in Fall 2024. The successful candidate will contribute to our academic community through teaching across the psychology curriculum, grant writing and research, and service activities. This position offers an exciting opportunity for the applicant to establish a program of research in their area, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of psychology. Experience in social psychology, psychology and law, forensic psychology, or other related areas is desired, but candidates from other areas of specialization will be considered. Quality Matters certification is preferred.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: The successful candidate will supervise and mentor undergraduate and graduate research, as well as any research assistants hired to work on grant projects.
WORKINGCONDITIONSANDPHYSICALEFFORT:The Assistant Professor of Psychology position is primarily based on-campus, with occasional opportunities for remote work. The position involves a combination of teaching, research, and service responsibilities, with regular office hours and participation in departmental meetings and events. Occasional travel for conferences and professional development may be required. This position requires the ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods. Occasional lifting and carrying of materials may be required during teaching and research activities.
